Telangana government celebrates Savitribai Phule's birth anniversary as Women's Teachers' Day, honoring her pioneering work in education.
Telangana government has issued orders to celebrate the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, on January 3, as Women’s Teachers’ Day. It will be celebrated throughout the State as a State function. Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari issued orders on Thursday (January 2, 2025) directing collectors to hold the celebrations.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said Savitribai Phule stood as a pioneer for women’s education and fought for equality, and the government was committed to the realisation of her aspirations.
Chief Minister recalled the services and sacrifices and said that Savitribai Phule laid the foundation for a historic change in Indian society giving her life to give priority to women’s education and provide justice to the oppressed communities.
