Telangana girl dies after accidentally shooting self with air-gun

A four-year-old girl in Telangana’s Sangareddy district accidentally shot herself with an air-gun that was kept to kill monkeys and storks. The girl was allegedly playing with the gun when it went off. Police are investigating the case.
A 4-year-old girl died in a farmhouse near the Jinnaram police station limits of Telangana’s Sangareddy district after a gun went off. The girl, P Shanvi, died due to a bullet injury to her head.
Sanvi’s father, Nagraj, a native of the Nizamabad district, works at the farmhouse. The air gun was kept to kill monkeys and storks. The owner of the farmhouse lives in Hyderabad.
It was alleged that due to the misfire of an air gun at the farmhouse on Tuesday night, March 15, the girl was killed.
The girl was playing with the air gun when it went off.
“We are investigating the case. We have little information as of now but we are investigating how the incident took place and how the girl suffered a bullet injury,” said Bheem Reddy, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Patancheru zone.
Police have registered a case and started an investigation while the dead body was shifted to Osmania hospital in Hyderabad for post mortem.
