The Miryalaguda rural police have arrested members of two gangs for selling the stolen vehicles by tampering their chasis and engine numbers.
On Wednesday, the Miryalaguda rural police busted two gangs for selling the stolen vehicles by tampering their chasis and engine numbers. The police have arrested members of the gangs and seized 20 cars worth Rs 6 crore from their possession.
As per the report by the Telangana Today, the arrested members, including Sripathi Narsimha, of Allapur in Medak district, Kodimalla Paripurna Chary of Hasthinapuram in Hyderabad and Ramavath Siri, of Kakkirala village in Nalgonda district from the first gang.
From the second gang, members such as Ali Khan of Hyderabad, Md Shakeel and Md Shafilla of Bellampally in Manchiryal district.
Meanwhile, accused named Boppa Gosh, Khaleel Khan, Amzad Husein and Shailesh Singh were absconding.
According to the report, the racket came to the notice of the local police and they started investigating the case.
On February 8, a petrol pump worker, Veeraswamy, lodged a complaint with Miryalaguda police stating that he had bought two cars, and paid the amount to get NOCs from the owners.
As per the agreement, the sellers should give the NOCs to Veeraswamy but police found that two sold cars were stolen from New Delhi.
