Telangana couple have close shave as their car washes away in swelling stream in Vikarabad

Due to incessant rains, the river near Nagaram district was overflowing and the couple's car got swept away. However, they managed to escape from the car and climbed a tree.
A couple escaped a mishap while their car washed away in a swelling stream in Telangana's Vikarabad district. According to reports, the couple got out safely and climbed a tree while they were being washed away in a swelling stream in the morning hours on Thursday.
Devanur Shiva and his wife Monika were crossing a stream near Nagaram when the car washed away by the flash floods. The couple somehow managed to get out of the car and climb a tree. Later on, police with the help of locals from Nagaram village brought them out with the help of ropes.

Shiva and Monika had come to their village, Dornala in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh for Dussehra festival. The incident took place while they were returning on Thursday morning after celebrating the festival.
However, because of the heavy rain last night, the streams were overflowing. Due to this, the stream near Nagaram was flowing violently and the car got swept away in the water. Devanur Shiva and his wife Monika escaped from the car and got out.
