Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao will lead a dharna in the national capital on April 11 to protest against the Centre’s paddy procurement policy.
The Telangana government will sit on a day-long dharna to stage a protest against the Union government’s 'discriminatory' paddy procurement policy, which affects 61 lakh farmers and their families.
The protest site — Telangana Bhavan is being set up for the massive protest in Delhi.
Several state government ministers, ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party MPs, MLCs, MLAs and other elected representatives of urban and rural local bodies will join the protest against the Union Government.
Ahead of the protest, CM's daughter and TRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha interacted with the media. Kavitha said the party is all set to protect the interests of Telangana farmers in light of the indifferent behaviour of the Union Government towards paddy procurement.
The former MP, who was inspecting the protest site, reaffirmed that the schemes and policies of the Central Government are a threat to the national food security system and that the TRS party will fight for the interest of the farmers.
