Telangana CM announces filling up of 9,142 vacant govt jobs

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Raro, on Wednesday, said that 91,147 government jobs will be filled soon. He made the announcement during the ongoing Budget session of the Telangana legislative assembly.
In a mega announcement, the Telugu Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) on Wednesday, March 9, announced the filling up of 91,142 vacant jobs in the state.
He made the statement during the ongoing budget session of the Telangana legislative assembly. KCR has been facing huge criticism from the opposition over the job notification and unemployment rates in the state.
“The government proposes to fill up 2,020 teaching posts and 2,774 non-teaching posts in the Universities,” said KCR.
Addressing the Assembly, KCR said that 91,147 government jobs will be filled soon. He said that 95 per cent of jobs will be allotted for locals only and only 5 per cent for the open category under the new zonal policy.
Notifications will be issued for 80,039 jobs and will regularise 11,103 contract jobs, said KCR. Soon after the announcement, TRS workers celebrated at Osmania University and party headquarters, Telangana Bhawan.
The CM also announced an increased maximum age limit to apply for government jobs. Now, the upper age limit for government posts (excluding police) will be 44 years for OC, 49 years for SC, ST, BC, 54 years for the physically handicapped, and 47 years for ex-servicemen.
This will incur a financial burden of Rs 7,300 crore per annum for the state government, informed the chief minister.
