Tata Safari XZ+/XZA+ variants get second row ventilated seats
India Today
Until now, only six-seat versions of the Tata Safari Dark and Gold editions were available with first and second row ventilated seats. This feature has now been added to all XZ+/XZA+ variants of the Safari including the Adventure Persona trim.
Tata Motors has first and second row seat ventilation in the Tata Safari XZ+ and XZA+ variants. Earlier the ventilated seats option was an extra feature available only in the Safari Gold Edition and the Safari Dark Edition but it has now been brought to XZ+ and XZA+ variants including the Adventure Persona trim. The front row ventilation is available in both six and seven seat configurations, but second-row ventilation is exclusive to six-seat layout with captain seats.
Highlights of the features list of the Tata Safari XZ+/XZA+ include a panoramic sunroof, 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 9-speaker JBL audio system, LED DRLs, cornering fog lamps, terrain response system, digital-analogue instrument cluster, 6-airbags, 6-way electrically adjustable driver's seat and many more. It rides on 18-inch alloys. The Tata Safari Adventure Persona offers certain extra cosmetic bits like the exclusive Tropical Mist-Blue exterior paint, exclusive black bits on the exterior, and a beige on black interior theme that is different from the white interiors found in the standard car.
Powertrain wise the Safari is offered with the 2.0-litre turbo-diesel producing 170bhp and 350Nm of torque. Currently, Tata only provides a FWD configuration in the Safari with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Tata sourced the OMEGARC architecture, the platform on which the Safari is based, from Land Rover’s D8 Platform on which cars like Discovery and Evoque are based. The terrain response system comes with Normal, Rough and Wet modes while the Eco, City and Sport Drive modes offer a large operating range for the car both for road and off-road use.
Ventilated seats are a good value addition to the Tata Safari and give it teeth against its competition in the six and seven-seater SUV segment that is hotly contested. Hyundai Alcazar does offer ventilated seats but only for the front row, and the new entrant Mahindra XUV700 does not have ventilated seats as a feature altogether.
