After the saga of electric bikes catching fire in Tamil Nadu, Prithiviraj, a resident of Tamil Nadu's Tirupattur, voluntarily set his e-bike on fire after reportedly facing several issues.
Prithviraj, who runs an ortho and neuro clinic near Ambur, recently purchased an Ola e-bike. In a video that has since gone viral, Prithviraj said that although there is a vehicle registration office nearby, Ola officials asked him to travel to Gudiyattam, which is around 50 kilometres away, to register the bike.
According to him, Gudiyattam RTO refused to register the bike claiming Prithviraj's residence does not fall under the purview of the RTO. But his problems did not end there.
His bike reportedly stopped working midway, leaving Prithviraj stranded on the road. According to him, despite notifying the service center, with a video message, no help arrived for two hours. The whole incident fueled frustration and anger and Prithviraj poured petrol over the e-bike and set it on fire.
