Tamil Nadu government will train women who wish to become temple priests: Minister

Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments (HR & CE) Minister PK Sekar Babu said on Saturday that women who wish to become temple priests will be trained and appointed in temples managed by his department.

Tamil Nadu minister PK Sekar Babu said that women who wish to become temple priests will be provided with the training they need. The minister made the statement in response to a question during a press conference on Saturday. "Women who have an interest can also become priests; they will be given training and appointed in temples managed by the department (managed by the Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments department)," said HR & CE minister PK Sekar Babu. He added, "Tamil Archana is already being performed at 47 HR & CE temples in the state."
