Tamil Nadu: DMK, AIADMK workers clash in first phase of polling for rural body polls

The first phase of polling for the rural local body polls in Tamil Nadu saw minor clashes between the DMK and AIADMK cadres.

Polling began for the rural local body polls in nine districts of Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. The first phase of rural body polls saw minor clashes between the DMK and AIADMK cadres.

The nine districts which went to polls are - Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Tenkasi, Vellore, Ranipet, Tiruppattur, Tirunelveli, Villupuram, and Kallakuruchi. The next phase of polling is on October 9. The results will be announced on October 12.
