Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin urges President Ramnath Kovind for early release of seven convicts in Rajiv Gandhi's assassination.
Chief minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin has written to President of India, Ramnath Kovind, seeking early release of Nalini, Murugan, Santhan, Perarivalan, Jayakumar, Robert Payas and Ravichandran, who were convicted for the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. CM Stalin stated that Nalini's original death sentence was commuted under Article 161 and Supreme Court commuted death sentence of other three convicts to life imprisonment. Stalin also mentioned that majority of political parties in Tamil Nadu were requesting for the remission of the remainder of their sentence and for immediate release as they were incarcerated for about three decades.More Related News
