Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin held an all-party meeting on Monday to discuss the construction of Mekedatu dam by the Karnataka government over the Cauvery river. In the meeting, Stalin stated that the BS Yediyurappa-led government has decided to construct a dam at Mekedatu in Karnataka, which is 4 km away from the Tamil Nadu border and would cause severe damage to the livelihood of Tamil Nadu farmers.
