
Taliban official pushes for Afghan girls to be able to return to school

A rare moderate official in the Taliban is advocating to let girls continue school past middle school after the Taliban banned girls from attending middle and high school last August.
The measures include banning girls from middle school and high school despite initial promises to the contrary. Women are required to cover themselves from head to toe in public, with only their eyes showing.
