Taliban now control over two-third districts of Afghanistan, regime change a certainty
India Today
As part of their offensive against the Ghani administration in Kabul, the Taliban have captured 267 districts of Afghanistan as of Sunday.
The important northern Afghan city of Mazar-i- Sharif fell to the Taliban on Saturday, followed by the strategic city of Jalalabad a day after. With the capture of two key cities in two days, and that too, without resistance from forces loyal to the current regime, the Taliban has gained control of most of war-ravaged Afghanistan. In fact, the Taliban and Afghan government are in talks for a “peaceful transition of power” so that the Islamic militia does not attack the capital city of Kabul. This comes after a Taliban blitzkrieg saw much of the country fall into its hands in just a few weeks.More Related News
