Take a vinyl record for a spin at the Kitchener Public Library

Vinyl records have made a comeback at the Kitchener Public Library.
After discontinuing its vinyl collection in the 1990s, the library has this month reintroduced a collection of more than 170 records that span a variety of genres — from country to hip hop.
"We've seen people young and old — hobbyists, enthusiasts, professionals — all come and take a record for a spin," said Nathan Stretch, the library's community development manager.
"There's a warmth, there's an analog presence to [records] I think people appreciate in an age that's largely online."
The collection is housed in the central branch's Heffner Studio.
It was paid for, in part, by a donation from the family of Payton Colussi. Colussi worked for the Kitchener Public Library and passed away at age 19.
