Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta accused the Punjab Police of manhandling Tajinder Singh Bagga's father by gagging him with a piece of cloth.
Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta accused the Punjab Police of manhandling Tajinder Singh Bagga's father by gagging him with a piece of cloth while they were arresting the BJP leader. According to Gupta, Punjab police entered the house of the BJP Yuva Morcha Secretary without any prior notice and arrested him.
When his father wanted to make a video of Bagga's arrest, Gupta claimed that Punjab police manhandled him and stuffed a piece of cloth in his mouth.
"The way Punjab police manhandled Bagga's father and stuffed a piece of cloth in his mouth is very shameful. The BJP is not going to be cowed down with such threats by the police at Kejriwal's behest," Gupta said.
The state party president also accused the Punjab Police of not letting Bagga tie his turban while leaving the house.
Gupta further said that the Punjab Police should have followed procedure and informed the Delhi Police in advance, so that it could have helped its Punjab counterpart, adding that the action seemed like a revenge plot.
"The only fault of Bagga is that he tried to bring out the lies of Kejriwal. In fact, Kejriwal had promised that those who had insulted Guru Granth Sahib would be arrested within 24 hours of the AAP coming to power in Punjab, but till date, it hasn't happened," stated Gupta.
The BJP workers along with Gupta registered an FIR against Punjab Police at the Janakpuri police station. The party workers also raised slogans against the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
