Filmmaker Tahira Kashyap Khuranna revealed on Instagram on Monday that her breast cancer has relapsed after seven years
Writer and filmmaker Tahira Kashyap Khuranna revealed on Instagram on Monday (April 7) that her breast cancer has relapsed after seven years.
Tahira, who is also the wife of actor Ayushmann Khurrana, was diagnosed with Stage 0 (pre-invasive) breast cancer in 2018.
Tahira’s note on Instagram also highlights the importance of regular screening. “Seven year itch or the power of regular screening - it’s a perspective, I had like to go with the latter and suggest the same for everyone who needs to get regular mammograms. Round 2 for me... I still got this,” she wrote.
In the caption of the post, Tahira wrote, “When life gives you lemons make lemonade. When life becomes too generous and throws them again at you, you squeeze them calmly into your favourite kala khatta drink and sip it with all the good intentions. Because for one it’s a better drink and two you know you will give it your best once again.”
She further noted the irony in her announcement falling on World Health Day. “Let’s do whatever we can in our capacity to take care of ourselves,” she added.
“My hero,” wrote Ayushmann in the comments of Tahira’s post.
Many celebrities, including Guneet Monga, Twinkle Khanna, and Tahira’s brother-in-law Aparshakti Khurana, commented on the post, wishing their best for Tahira.

In his complaint to the police, the Secretary of NMPA said that the former MLA, along with two of his associates, gatecrashed into the chamber of Deputy Chairperson S. Shanthi around 8 p.m. on June 9 with a demand for settling a pending bill. Besides obstructing her from performing her official duty, the former MLA prevented the officer from going out of the chamber.
