Tabu joins Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan in horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, produced by Ekta Kapoor, set for release in 2026.
After her success in the sci-fi series Dune: Prophecy, Tabu is set to collaborate once again with Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan in the horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla. The film, produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures, was announced via an Instagram post from the actress on Saturday.
Tabu shared a picture of a clapboard captioned “Hum yahan bandh hain (we are trapped here),” hinting at the film’s horror-comedy premise. She tagged her co-stars Akshay Kumar, Jisshu Sengupta, and Wamiqa Gabbi, as well as music composer Pritam and director Priyadarshan.
This project brings Tabu back to a genre she has explored before. She previously appeared in successful horror comedies such as Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022) and Golmaal Again (2017). Her role in Bhooth Bangla will reunite her with Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar, both of whom she worked with in the 2000 comedy Hera Pheri.
Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar have a long history of collaborations, including films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Garam Masala, and De Dana Dan. Tabu and Priyadarshan have also worked together on multiple projects, including Virasat (1997) and Snegithiye (2000).
Set to release on April 2, 2026, Bhooth Bangla also features Wamiqa Gabbi, who shared the screen with Tabu in the Netflix spy thriller Khufiya (2023).
