Doha: It was a do or die game for both hosts Qatar and Bahrain in the Asia Qualifier Group A for the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup.
At the Asian Town Stadium yesterday, the home team made a heavy weather of the 127-run target. Though they clinched it by two wickets, it turned out to be in the end that they lost a few too many wickets.
It meant that Bahrain got the better of Qatar on the Net Run Rate and topped the five-team pool by 0.093 margin to qualify for one of the two global qualifiers to be held next year.
