T20 World Cup: South Africa are trailing Australia by net run rate but captain Temba Bavuma said that the team is focussing on beating a dominant England team before anything else.
South Africa are focussing first on beating England instead of thinking about overtaking Australia on net run rate, said captain Temba Bavuma on the eve of their final Super 12 match of the T20 World Cup. The Proteas are level on points with Australia but the latter are second on the table ahead of them on the basis of their superior net run rate.
"It's obviously a big game. Some have even called it as a 'quarterfinal'," Bavuma told reporters on Friday. "So I think from that point of view, and looking at our expectations as a team coming to this event, we want to play our best cricket.
