T20 World Cup: Australia's losses in West Indies, Bangladesh were 'brilliant' for squad depth - Justin Langer

T20 World Cup: Australia lost five consecutive T20I series in their lead-up to the tournament, including in the West Indies and Bangladesh where they fielded depleted squad as several frontline players sat out.
Australia may have lost a five consecutive T20I series in the build-up to the T20 World Cup but that only helped them strengthen their squad depth, head coach Justin Langer has said. Australia managed to reach the semi-final from a Super 12 group that had former champions West Indies, a resurgent South Africa and runaway title favourites England.
They then stunned Pakistan, who were the only team in the tournament to have won all their Super 12 matches and were on a 16-match unbeaten run in T20Is in the UAE.
