Tamil Nadu Assembly will on Tuesday (January 7, 2025) adopt a condolence resolution over the passing of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. It would also adopt condolence resolution over the demise of Congress legislator E.V.K.S. Elangovan.

After the Speaker reads out obituary references over the death of former legislators and the adoption of condolence resolutions over the death of the former PM and the Congress legislator, the House is expected to be adjourned for the day.
As decided in the meeting of the Assembly’s Business Advisory Committee, the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the Governor’s Address to the House would commence on Wednesday (January 8, 2025) and would continue for the next two days.
The reply to the the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the Governor’s Address to the House is scheduled to be held on Saturday (January 11, 2025). Bills, if any, tabled during the ongoing Assembly sitting would be taken up on the same day.
