Swara Bhasker receives death threat, Mumbai cops launch probe. Report

Swara Bhaskar has reportedly received death threat through an anonymous letter. The Mumbai Police have now launched a probe in the matter.
After Salman Khan, now Swara Bhasker has received a death threat through an anonymous letter via speed post at her residence. The letter was sent to the actress' residence located in Versova, Mumbai. Following this, the Mumbai police have launched an investigation, an official said on Wednesday, June 29, according to PTI reports.
After receiving the letter, Swara Bhasker approached Versova police station and lodged a complaint against unidentified persons, an official said. "Based on the complaint, we have registered a non-cognisable offence against unidentified persons," he said adding that the investigation is on.
The letter, handwritten in Hindi, directly threatened Swara's life and was filled with abuses warning her against insulting Savarkar. The letter was signed in the end as 'Is desh ke naujawan'. The letter mentions that the youth of the country will not tolerate the insult of Veer Savarkar, PTI reports.
Swara Bhaskar has been vocal about the socio-political issues plaguing the society. In 2017 she had posted a tweet that read, "Savarkar APOLOGISED To the British govt. pleaded to be let out of jail! That's not 'Veer' for sure (sic)..."

In 2019, the actress had posted another tweet with a video, "The planned construction of a most cowardly ‘braveheart’ Understanding "Veer" Savarkar (sic)."
