Suzuki Avenis 125cc launched at Rs 86,700
India Today
Suzuki’s new 125cc Avenis is their sportiest product till date with its sights set on the GenZ market share.
Suzuki Motorcycles has launched the Suzuki Avenis in India with a starting price of Rs 86,700 ex-showroom. The 125cc Avenis is by far Suzuki’s sportiest scooter in India yet, and it comes with a generous side serving of tech. It is also aimed unapologetically at the TVS Ntorq 125 and the Yamaha RayZR. To reinforce its sporty agenda, the Avenis will also get a MotoGP inspired livery called the Metallic Triton Blue (Race Edition).
The Avenis wears its sporty intent on its sleeve with sharp lines and plenty of faux winglets defining the design form. LED headlamps and taillamps are also standard. Aside from being a sharp looking scooter, at least at first glance there seems to be promise of performance as well. While the Suzuki’s 125cc motor produces a modest 8.7bhp@6,750rpm, the Avenis weighs a whole 6kgs less at 106kg than the Ntorq which makes 9.2bhp of peak power. Although the Ntorq does make an extra .5Nm of torque than the Avenis’ 10Nm. It will be interesting to see how these scooters match up in the real world.
