Suvendu Adhikari meets protestors of Deucha Panchami coal project, says tribes do not want it

BJP leader and LoP in the West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari met with the protestors of Deucha Panchami coal mine project in Birbhum and said that the tribals do not want the project.
As the West Bengal government began a mega business summit to attract investments on Wednesday, Opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari went to Deucha Panchami in Birbhum district and met with the protestors of coal mine project.
While taking on the Bengal government led by Mamata Banerjee, Suvendu Adhikari said, "The Deuchar tribes do not want a coal mine. Even after that, if the state heads to acquire land by force, people will resist”.
Suvendu Adhikari's remarks came at a time when there is a bone of contention between the state government and locals of Deucha Panchami, who continued to protest over a proposed coal mining project.

Suvendu Adhikari went to Deucha Panchami along with nine other BJP MLAs. The BJP delegation met with the tribals protesting against the state government's Deucha Panchami coal project. At the protesting site, Adhikari said that there are over 10,000 houses in the area with most of the inhabitants being tribals. “Mamata govt has sent eviction notices, we're against eviction,” he said.
