Doha, Qatar: Qatar Foundation (QF) has outlined a roadmap for sustainability, prioritising environmental conservation and sustainable development.
One of the key areas of focus in QF’s future plans is the expansion of renewable energy projects, said Dr. Veronica Bermudez, Senior Research Director of the Energy Center at Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), under QF.
In a recent interview with The Peninsula, Dr. Bermudez explained QF’s future sustainability plans. “Through investments in solar, the foundation aims to bolster its clean energy portfolio, reduce its carbon footprint, and promote sustainable energy sources to mitigating climate change and advancing sustainable energy practices.”
She said QF is also prioritising energy-efficient and environmentally friendly buildings and facilities.
“QF sets a high standard for sustainable infrastructure, showcasing a commitment to sustainable urban development and responsible resource utilisation,” said Dr. Bermudez.
