
Suspicious fire displaces two people in Sudbury's west end

There were no injuries reported after a fired damaged a home on Regent Street near Douglas Street in Greater Sudbury’s west end on Sunday morning.
There were no injuries reported after a fired damaged a home on Regent Street near Douglas Street in Greater Sudbury’s west end on Sunday morning.
Greater Sudbury deputy fire chief Jesse Oshell told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca, in a short message, that Greater Sudbury Fire Services received calls about flames and the smell of smoke at the location at about 6 a.m.
Roadways near the blaze were closed for a short time while firefighters extinguished the fire.
Oshell said the fire was declared out at about 8 a.m.
Fire officials said crews performed thorough checks to ensure the blaze was completely out.
“(The) fire was deemed suspicious,” said Oshell.
