Lunenburg District RCMP responded to a home on Long Hill Road for a wellbeing check of two people just after 1 p.m. Sunday.
Police say officers found the remains of a 60-year-old woman and a 75-year-old man inside the home. The deaths were deemed suspicious.
An update from police Thursday says the investigation revealed the woman’s death was a result of homicide. The man, who died from self-inflicted wounds, was responsible for her death, according to an RCMP news release.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
