Suspects connected to summer homicide 'remain at large,' Calgary police say

Calgary police say they're looking for people who "remain at large" and are believed to be connected to a summer homicide.
In July, Calgary police said Shawn Garry McCormack, 34, was found dead in an alley in the southwest community of Upper Mount Royal. In September, police said they had arrested a man in connection with the incident.
Now, police say they believe McCormack died in the southeast community of Forest Lawn and was then transported to Upper Mount Royal.
Investigators also believe more than one person was involved, and that several people were present during the homicide and provided assistance to transport McCormack's body.
"While we have charged one individual, this investigation is far from over," said Staff Sgt. Martin Schiavetta of the Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit in a media release.
"We believe that additional people were involved in the homicide, which took place in Forest Lawn, as well as in aiding the suspects after the incident. We will not stop investigating and reviewing evidence until everyone who was involved is arrested and held accountable."
The media release said after reviewing CCTV and conducting additional interviews, investigators believe that McCormack died at a home located in the 2400 block of 36th Street S.E.
Police said investigators also received tips about a blanket that was located at the Upper Mount Royal scene, which they believe has significance to the investigation.
The blanket has an image of a dream catcher with two white birds on it.
Police are asking anyone with information related to the death or the blanket to contact them or reach out anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
