Suriya says director Shankar’s been doing pan-India movies for 30 years

Suriya praised Shankar's vision at the audio launch of Viruman. He said everyone is looking forward to Indian 2 and RC 15.
Filmmaker Shankar's daughter Aditi is set to make her acting debut with the Tamil movie Viruman, which is produced by Suriya and features Karthi in the lead. Nadippin Nayagan attended its audio launch on Wednesday, August 3, much to the delight of fans. Speaking at the event, he praised the ace filmmaker's vision and said that he has been "making pan-India films for 30 years". Shankar, the director behind blockbusters such as Indian (1996) and Sivaji (2007), is synonymous with commercial movies that carry a strong message.
Suriya, last seen in a cameo in Kamal Haasan's Vikram, has described Shankar as someone who has been "redefining Indian cinema with his movies" with his work. The mass hero went on to add that everyone is looking forward to his upcoming movies Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 and the Ram Charan-led RC 15.
"Shankar sir showed us what it is to make pan-India films long back. He’s been doing it for 30 years, constantly redefining Indian cinema with his movies. The anticipation around his films has been always there. Even now, the entire India is looking forward to his Indian 2 and his next film with Ram Charan," said Suriya.
Indian is a sequel to the 1996 classic of the same name. The vigilante-thriller features Kamal Haasan in the role of an aged freedom fighter who decides to eliminate corruption by murdering corrupt government officials. Indian 2 stars Kajal Aggarwal as the leading lady and marks her first collaboration with the veteran actor. The cast includes Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Siddharth. Indian 2, which has been on hold since 2020, is reportedly set to resume shoot in September.
RC 15, on the other hand, is a political thriller that reportedly features Ram Charan in two distinct roles. It stars Kiara Advani as the female lead. This will be her second film with the Mega Power Star after the actioner Vinaya Vidheya Rama(2019).
