Supreme Court has no right to appoint Prime Minister: Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli

As many as 146 lawmakers of the dissolved House of Representatives on May 24 filed a petition against Oli’s May 21 decision to dissolve the House and demanded that Sher Bahadur Deuba be appointed as the prime minister.
New Delhi: Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Thursday (June 17) wrote a letter to the country’s Supreme Court with 18 points defending the dissolution of the parliament. Defending the move of dissolving the House for the second time, Oli said that there was no possibility of forming an alternative government after the President rejected claims by both him and the Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba. PM Oli said forming a government on a party basis is the most basic feature of a parliamentary system.More Related News
