Ahead of the upcoming municipal elections in Haryana, the BJP, Congress and AAP will hold rallies in the state. Arvind Kejriwal will address a rally in Kurukshetra, CM Manohar Lal Khattar in Sirsa and Bhupinder Singh Hooda in Fatehabad
Ahead of the local bodies elections in Haryana, the political parties have started flexing their muscles to outdo each other. The state will witness hectic political activity on Sunday with three big political rallies lined up.
The rallies of AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda are scheduled on the same day, May 29.
With an eye on the municipal polls and 2024 assembly elections, Arvind Kejriwal has chosen Kurukshetra as the venue for his 'Ab Badlega Haryana' (Haryana will change now) rally.
AAP's surge in Haryana has left the rivals guessing. Recently, several leaders joined the party including former state Congress chief Dr Ashok Tanwar and various disgruntled leaders. Some big political names are also likely to join the party in the rally on Sunday.
AAP leaders have claimed that the rally will be a game changer.
Desperate to return to power, the Congress, the Hooda faction in particular, is in combat mode. The party will hold a rally in Fatehabad to counter AAP. Despite fears of poaching of its leaders, Congress is downplaying AAP's threat.
"Every political party makes efforts during the elections, but in Haryana, Congress is the only choice", former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on Saturday while reacting to AAP's Kurukshetra rally.
