Rumour mill again suggested that Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul are set to tie the knot. Suniel Shetty has now reacted to it.
Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul have been in a relationship for quite some time now. It was recently rumoured that the couple is ready to take the plunge and tie the knot. Some sources said that Athiya and Rahul will be getting married in the next three months. While Athiya, daughter of Suniel and Mana Shetty, is an actress, KL Rahul is the skipper of Lucknow Super Giants and the vice-captain of the India national team. Athiya’s father, Suniel Shetty, has now eventually set the record straight and clarified whether a wedding is really on the cards soon or not.
Athiya and Rahul recently travelled to Munich together for the latter's surgery. Several reports began claiming that the couple will tie the knot soon. When Suniel Shetty was asked if the family had started preparations for the said wedding by Radio Mirchi, he responded, “No, nothing has been planned yet!”
A week before this, Athiya’s brother Ahan Shetty had said to Dainik Bhaskar, “As far as the wedding is concerned, there are no arrangements being made. There is no such ceremony, these are all rumours. When there is no wedding, how can we give you a date?"
A source close to Athiya Shetty had said that the actress and cricketer KL Rahul, who have been dating each other for more than three years now, are all set to marry each other in the next three months. Preparations are going in full swing. "Rahul's parents were recently in Mumbai to meet Athiya's family. The couple, along with their families, visited the new house where they will be moving in soon, to see the progress. The wedding is expected to take place in the next three months in Mumbai. It will be a grand celebration for both the families and every detail of the wedding is been overseen by the bride herself," a source said.
Recently, Athiya Shetty jetted off to Germany with K L Rahul for his treatment. The cricketer was ruled out of India's tour of England due to injury. The 30-year-old who sustained a groin injury underwent surgery in Germany. The source further revealed that Rahul would remain there for about a month and Athiya would be by his side during his recovery.
Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul made their first public appearance together last year during the premiere of Ahaan Shetty's debut film Tadap. Athiya often accompanies KL Rahul for his international cricket matches.
