Sudbury police search for teens accused of throwing rocks in 2 separate incidents
CBC
For the second time in a week, Sudbury police are searching for teens who are accused of throwing rocks off Maley Drive.
Just before 2:10 p.m. on Wednesday, police were called to the area west of Barrydowne Road in relation to a mischief complaint.
A person was driving eastbound when a large rock struck the windshield causing substantial damage. The driver looked back to see where the rock came from. Police said they saw "two youths on the hill in the same area as the collision that occurred on Aug. 28 involving a motorcycle."
Police said it's believed the rock that struck the windshield was thrown by the teens.
Last Wednesday, police received several 911 calls around 1:40 p.m. that a group of teens were throwing rocks onto Maley Drive from a large rock cut.
A motorcycle lost control and went into the ditch. The driver had significant injuries as a result and was taken to hospital. Police said it's believed the driver of the motorcycle was hit with a rock, causing the collision.
Police ask anyone who was in the area with a dash camera to review the footage and contact police with any relevant information.
Police have set up a dedicated line for information on this case. The public can call in information at 705-675-9171 ext. 2320.
