Acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik paid tribute to veteran-singer composer Bappi Lahiri with his sand art on Puri beach. He shared a video on Twitter.
Acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik paid tribute to legendary singer-composer Bappi Lahiri with his sand art on Puri beach on February 16. The singer-composer passed away on Tuesday, February 15, at a Mumbai hospital. He was 69.
Sudarsan Pattnaik made a sand sculpture of Bappi Lahiri at Puri beach with a message that said, “Yaad aa raha hai tera pyaar, Kahaan hum kahaan tum, Huey tum kahaan goom ..Yaad aata rahega tera pyaar! Tribute to Disco king #BappiDa. My SandArt at Puri beach (sic).”

Bappi Lahiri was being treated for multiple illnesses. He was unwell for quite some time and had been in and out of the hospital in the last year. The singer-composer was brought to the hospital after his health deteriorated on Tuesday night and doctors tried to revive him but they couldn't.
Bappi Lahiri is survived by two children - a son, Bappa Lahiri, and a daughter, Rema Lahiri. He will be cremated on Thursday, February 17, at Pawan Hans crematorium. The family had decided to delay the cremation as Bappi Lahiri's son, Bappa, was in America.
