A sub-inspector of police has been arrested and remanded on charges of sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl in Madhavaram The offender has been identified as Sathish Kumar, 32, a resident of Tiruvallur district. He was working in a special team of police attached to the Kasimedu police station. During this period, he had been working in the Madhavaram Milk Depot area and had become acquainted with the victim's mother, 37 while he was regulating crowds at a ration shop.
