Wisdom Students conference warns against changing higher secondary exam timing, impacting student morale negatively.
A conference of the Wisdom Students held at Perinthalmanna on Sunday warned that the change of timing of higher secondary examinations would negatively affect the morale of students.
The conference titled ‘Enrich Exam Pointer’, held in the run-up to a mega student conference being planned at Perinthalmanna on May 11, said changing the higher secondary exams to afternoon could not be justified under any circumstance.
“It will be better for the students if the authorities hold both SSLC and higher secondary exams in the morning. Shifting higher secondary exams to the afternoon in the name of SSLC exams will only help affect the morale of students,” said Wisdom Youth State vice president P.P. Naseef while inaugurating the meet.
“SSLC exams last only for nine days. But higher secondary exams last for 18 days. Changing the time of higher secondary exams is a poor decision. It will affect the students badly, especially in the hot days of Ramzan,” said Dr. Naseef.
Wisdom Students zonal president Abdulla Naseem V.K. presided over the function.

The formal launch of the distribution of free copies of The Hindu In School, an initiative supported by the Manappuram Foundation, took place at their Valappad office on Tuesday. As part of the foundation’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, the project was officially inaugurated by George De Das, CEO of the foundation. In addition to The Hindu In School, participating schools will also receive copies of The Hindu YoungWorld and The Hindu In School Weekend tabloid, offering a well-rounded reading experience.

Urging the OBC Advisory Council set up by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to strategise to bring pressure on the current regime to complete the nation-wide socio, economic and educational caste census, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday said that there should be fight for reservation of 75% for backward classes or proportionate representation based on the caste census. He also favoured reservation in private sector.
