After several students reported getting more-than-total marks in a VTU exam and then subsequently failing in the same, they have threatened to stage protests.
Several students studying under Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) were in for a shock after they received their results on Tuesday. A few of the third-semester engineering students were granted 103 marks, which is more than the maximum marks (100) in a subject.
After the university got to know about its blunder and corrected its mistakes, certain students received their results as failed on Wednesday.
The recent goof-up by VTU has angered many students and they have called for protests in the coming days.
Farooq Byabe, Vice President of NSUI, Karnataka said, "Many students who passed in the first results have been failed in the second results."
"We are asking what is the credibility of the university and the registrar of evaluation? We will protest in front of the university by tomorrow or day after," he said.
REGISTRAR ASSURES ISSUE WOULD BE RESOLVED
BE Rangaswamy, the registrar of BE evaluation has assured the students of resolving the issue.
