Belgrade: A student was wounded in the Serbian capital Belgrade on Thursday after a car drove through a crowd of protestors blocking a road to demand accountability over the fatal collapse of a train station roof last year.
Serbia has been hit by regular protests for months after a roof at a train station in the northern city of Novi Sad collapsed on November 1, killing 15 people, following recent restoration work.
The largely student-led protests frequently block roads across the country.
Footage of Thursday's incident was widely shared on social media and showed a car driving along a sidewalk and striking a protester, who was carried by the vehicle for several metres before falling off.
It was not immediately clear whether the driver had intentionally hit the student.
