Strong winds expected to gust through Hamilton and surrounding areas Wednesday
CBC
Gusts reaching 70 to 90 km/h will be moving through the city of Hamilton and surrounding areas through the afternoon, ending overnight. The winds will be moving through all of Southern Ontario, including Niagara and Halton regions.
Environment Canada warns of possible damages to soft shelters, tents and outdoor events with awnings, and increased risks of power outages due to fallen tree branches.
Pedestrians are also at a higher risk of loose objects being tossed through the wind at high speeds.
"Strong southerly winds will develop ahead of a cold front this afternoon, and winds will ease this evening or overnight with the passage of the front," says Environment Canada.
