A stray dog was beaten to death by a group of men in Kottapalli mandal of Telangana's Karimnagar on August 15. The accused later tied the dog's carcass to his bike using a rope and moved around the village. The entire incident was captured on camera.
As the matter came to light, Prineville Panneru, Founder and Secretary of Citizen for Animals, lodged a complaint with the Kothapalli police. Subsequently, a case was registered against the accused under IPC 429 (killing of maiming animals) and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
Kottapalli Inspector of Police, said three unidentified men brutally thrashed a dog with sticks, leaving him dead. They later tied the dog's carcass to a motor vehicle and moved around the village.
A case has been filed and further investigations are on.
