Stopped from taking out procession, Dalit family conducts funeral outside gram panchayat office in Maharashtra

In Maharashtra's Solapur district, a Dalit family was allegedly not allowed to carry out the funeral procession of their family member. To register their protest, the family conducted the funeral in front of the gram panchayat office in their village.

In western Maharashtra's Solapur district, a Dalit family was allegedly not allowed to carry out the funeral procession of their family member. Apart from upper caste individuals, the local cops purportedly stopped the family from taking out the procession. To register their protest against this maltreatment, the family conducted the funeral right in front of the gram panchayat office in Malewadi village of Malshiras tehsil on Saturday.
