Stigma of beating India is broken: Moin Khan backs Pakistan’s ‘best team’ to win Asia Cup 2022

Asia Cup 2022, Match 2, Pakistan will face India to begin their campaign. Babar Azam's men are placed in Group A along with India and Hong Kong.
Former wicketkeeper Moin Khan reckoned that Pakistan have the potential to win the 2022 Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Pakistan, captained by Babar Azam, are set to start their journey with the match against the Rohit Sharma-led India on Sunday, August 28 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Prior to the tournament, Pakistan were dealt with a blow after their premier pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi was ruled out due to a knee injury. Despite Shaheen’s absence, Moin felt that the Men in Green have a strong squad at their disposal for the ongoing tournament.
The 50-year-old Moin also had words of praise for the 27-year-old Babar and Rizwan, who scored over 2000 T20 runs back in 2021.
"Cricket has become too quick. But you have to praise the consistency of players such as Babar Azam. Rizwan has also stepped up his game, whereas Shaheen has also come up with remarkable performances, but unfortunately, he is missing out. I believe this is Pakistan's best team and they possess the ability to win," Moin was quoted as saying to Cricket Pakistan.
Moin mentioned that having already beaten India once in Dubai last year in the T20 World Cup 2021, Pakistan must be high on confidence.
"The stigma that India is too big a team for us and we can't beat them is broken. They also made many changes and their team isn't as strong. If we adopt an aggressive approach and play together, we have all the ability to win the tournament," he added.
