Steve Jobs’ wife Laurene Powell offers prayers at Varanasi temple ahead of Maha Kumbh Visit

Laurene Powell Jobs visits Kashi Vishwanath Temple before Maha Kumbh, accompanied by Swami Kailashanand Giri Ji Maharaj.
Laurene Powell Jobs, the wife of late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, visited the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi on Saturday before her scheduled visit to Prayagraj for Maha Kumbh. Swami Kailashanand Giri Ji Maharaj of Niranjani Akhara accompanied Ms. Jobs to the Varanasi temple.
Wearing a pink suit and a white dupatta on her head, Laurene Powell Jobs, the American billionaire businesswoman and philanthropist offered prayers from outside the sanctum sanctorum at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. “The visitor followed the traditions of the temple. She prayed for the successful completion of the Maha Kumbh,” said Mr. Giri, who was with Laurence Powell.
Ms. Jobs will attend the upcoming Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj and is also planning to take a dip in the river Ganga.
‘Maha Kumbh’, held once every 12 years is scheduled to begin on January 13 and conclude on February 26 in Prayagraj. Over 400 million people are expected to visit the Maha Kumbh with Uttar Pradesh government making elaborate arrangements for the religious event. Extensive security measures with over 20,000 police personnel are stationed in Prayagraj to handle the crowd. Thousands of Artificial Intelligence (AI) -powered CCTVs, drones, and state-of-the-art facilities have been set-up for visitors. U.P. government will run more than 5,500 buses from districts of the state for the convenience of pilgrims.
