Stefon Diggs’ brother gets probation after vicious elevator attack
NY Post
Darez Diggs, the brother of Texans wideout Stefon Diggs and Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs, pleaded no contest to a felony charge, received two years of probation last month and will be required to perform 20 hours of community service in connection to an elevator attack that occurred in May 2023, according to TMZ Sports.
The outlet added that Diggs “cut a deal with prosecutors,” though there’s a civil case — Cristopher Griffith, the victim, reportedly sued Diggs earlier this year — that allegedly remains active.
The incident occurred May 29 inside a Los Angeles apartment building, when Griffith stepped outside an elevator on the 16th floor, noticed Diggs standing outside and then attempted to return into the elevator, according to surveillance footage obtained by TMZ Sports last year.
Diggs used his hand to prevent the elevator from shutting while two other men entered the area and began attacking Griffith — eventually throwing him outside the elevator.
While inside the elevator, footage captured the two men that accompanied Diggs ripping an orange bag — which allegedly contained “diamonds and other jewelry,” police told TMZ Sports last year — away from Griffith before the attack continued in the area outside of the elevator.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear.
