Stalker arrested for trying to kill minor girl in Andhra’s Nellore district; victim in hospital

Chenchu Krishna was arrested by the Nellore Police for stalking and attempting to kill a minor girl who had rejected his love. He is an auto driver and tried to slit the minor girl’s throat on Monday. The girl is hospitalised and said to be out of danger.
A 29-year-old man in Venkatagiri mandal of Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore district tried to slit the neck of a minor girl using a knife. The incident took place on Monday, March 21. The man, identified as R Chenchu Krishna, was spurned by the minor girl after he repeatedly pestered her for marriage.
According to Nellore, Superintendent of Police, “The accused, who is an auto driver by profession, attacked the minor girl at her home and fled. Krishna was harassing the girl for quite a while and kept pestering her to marry him.”
The girl, who is an intermediate student, was shifted to a private hospital in Tirupati for better treatment. She is said to be out of danger. Police arrested the accused Krishna from Venkatagiri Bus stand and further investigation is in progress.
The accused was booked under sections 354D, 452, 324, 307 of the Indian Penal Code, Section 10 read with 9 (i) and other relevant sections.
