St Xavier’s College is going to upgrade all its UG departments to PG studies as a part of its Vision 2025 roadmap.
St Xavier's College (autonomous) Principal Father Dominic Savio said during the 15th convocation of the institute that as part of the institution's Vision 2025 roadmap, it will be upgrading all its undergraduate departments to postgraduate studies within the next three years.
There are also plans by the college to introduce PhD programmes in English and Bengali, which will soon be followed by the start of doctoral studies in all departments.
The principal further informed that as part of Vision 2025, the new campus of the college near EM Bypass will also begin shortly.
"This is the third campus of the college, after its Kolkata campus and Raghabpur rural campus in South 24-Parganas district housing a state-of-the-art hub," the principal added.
Explaining further, he said, "It will house the Mass Communication and Multimedia department, the community radio station, a modern incubation centre for facilitating startups and modern research facilities for Science PG departments."
The college's 'School for Gender Studies' is also going to be launched at the rural campus at Raghabpur from next month.
He went on to say, "The aim is to empower girl students with knowledge and self-confidence and also to facilitate awareness among their family members, neighbours and others with regard to gender equality."
