Police in St. Thomas have made a third arrest in a homicide and arson investigation in the alleged shooting of 40-year-old Victoria Dill at a home in the city last summer, they announced Wednesday.
A 50-year-old man is charged with manslaughter and arson with disregard for human life, leaving the tally of people arrested in the case at three. Police have not identified the third suspect.
"More information will be released as it becomes available," said police in a news release.
The investigation started when first responders found Dill, a St. Thomas woman, with a life-threatening gunshot wound on the same property as an active house fire on Hiawatha Street, police previously said. Dill later died in hospital.
The incident happened in the early morning hours of Jul. 3, 2024.
One month after Dill's death, police arrested Nathan Deleemans, 30, charged with second-degree murder and an arson-related charge, and 20-year-old Keegan Harvey for arson with disregard for human life and being an accessory after the fact to murder.
The as-of-yet unidentified third suspect is being held overnight at the St. Thomas Police station, and has a court appearance scheduled for Thursday morning, police said.
