SRH vs RCB, IPL 2022: Kane Williamson said SunRisers Hyderabad will not panic and make use of the week's break before their next game. SunRisers lost their 4th successive match on Sunday.
SunRisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson said on Sunday that the former champions need not panic and focus on the job at hand after they lost their 4th successive game in IPL 2022 after an upswing. SRH were handed a 67-run defeat by Royal Challengers Bangalore in a one-sided contest at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
It was an insipid performance from SunRisers Hyderabad as they conceded 192 runs and bowled out for 125 in just 19.2 overs. Captain Kane Williamson's poor run continued as he fell for a diamond duck, getting run-out without facing a ball while his opening partner Abhishek Sharma also fell for 0 as early as the first over.
Rahul Tripathi was the lone warrior as he hit a fighting fifty but it was not enough for SunRisers who were blown away by the Wanindu Hasaranga's 5-wicket haul.
SRH were racing towards a playoffs berth as they shook off two defeats and won 5 on the trot to go to 10 points in just 7 matches. However, they have now fallen behind in the race for the top 4 with 4 successive defeats.
"For us, it's looking to stay calm, we do need to touch on some areas to improve. We don't need to overthink either. The margins are always very fine," Williamson said after their loss.
SRH are at the 6th spot in the 10-team points table with 10 points from 11 matches but Williamson said a 6-day break before the next game will help them reassess and get back to winning ways.
We were outplayed today but we do have a little bit of a gap now. So we will look to reassess a little bit and get nice and clear on how we need to target our next matches and go and take it on a little bit better," Williamson added.
