‘Squad’ member blasts July 4 celebrations: ‘Black people still aren’t free’

Far-left Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.), dismissed Independence Day Sunday as a holiday meant for white people before claiming: “This land is stolen land and Black people still aren’t free.”
“When they say that the 4th of July is about American freedom, remember this: the freedom they’re referring to is for white people,” tweeted Bush, a member of the progressive “Squad” of lawmakers that includes Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). Bush, a Black Lives Matter activist who unseated longtime Rep. William Lacy Clay in a primary to represent her heavily Democratic district last year, previously used last month’s signing of legislation making Juneteenth a federal holiday to push for reparations for slavery and defunding law enforcement.More Related News
